Getting started with Hidemyacc

First, download the app and create an account with Hidemyacc. You must register the account directly on the app, it would not work via another browser. Once you have an account, and have the app set up on your device you can move on to the next part.

Creating a new browser profile

1. Open up the Hidemyacc app and log into your Hidemyacc account. Then click Create new profile:

2. It should take you to a page with all the settings for your new profile:

3. Click on the Proxy tab and select Your proxy, this should bring up the settings for your proxy on the profile:

4. Select the desired proxy protocol for your connection (HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5 if available with your subscription). Input the proxy details/endpoint into the correct fields, once input, you can double-check if the proxy works by clicking Check proxy. Here's an example for residential proxies:
   • Host: gate.smartproxy.com
   • Port: 10001
   • Proxy Account: Input yourproxy username
   • Proxy Password: Input your proxy password
   • You can go into advanced options and customize your browser fingerprint if needed.

5. Click Create or Update in the top right corner and that's it, your profile should be good to go:

6. That should be it! Click Run and your profile will launch with our proxies active.

Known issues:

Sometimes when checking if the proxy works via the Proxy detection option, it could display that you are unable to connect to the proxy. Before altering any settings, double-check by launching the profile. In most cases, the proxy connection should be established.

If you're located in mainland China, and can't connect, then replace smartproxy with visitxiangtan (e.g. gate.visitxiangtan.com) and try again.

Checking the proxy IP / connection

1. Launch the created profile from the main menu.
2. Visit ip.smartproxy.com to check the current IP address and location.
